JRCALC Clinical Guideline Updates

In the April 2025 JRCALC Clinical update, the new guideline Behavioural Emergencies has been introduced, which should be used in conjunction with other existing guidelines.

Other key reviews and updates have been made to:

  • Sepsis
  • Abdominal Pain
  • Tranexamic Acid
  • Ondansetron 
  • Medicines Overview where – working in conjunction with RCEM – a new poster of the pneumonic ‘MISSED’ has been included, highlighting the importance of patients that take time critical medicines

Behavioural Emergencies

Matthew Ward, Consultant Paramedic, shares further information about this new guideline, which should be used in conjunction with other existing guidelines.

Abdominal Pain

Alex Sharp, Deputy Head of Clinical Development at South Western Ambulance Service, summarises the latest review and update of the Abdominal Pain guideline.
